Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality in-home physical therapy services . Working closely with the patient, family, and an interdisciplinary team, the PTA follows the physician-ordered treatment plan to achieve optimal patient outcomes and adhere to industry benchmarks. Supervision by a registered physical therapist is required every 30 days or weekly if treatment is administered more than once a day.
Summary of Responsibilities
- – Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- – Provide therapeutic interventions such as exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to enhance patient recovery.
- – Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist, case manager, and physician as necessary.

- – Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, home exercise programs, and safety measures.
- – Participate in discharge planning by collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- – Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
- – Uphold a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- – Adhere to established Agency policies and procedures.
- – Provide physician-prescribed physical therapy according to the plan of care established by the PT.
- – Minimize or improve residual physical disabilities in patients.
- – Participate in patient care planning with other healthcare personnel.
- – Consult with the PT regarding any necessary changes in treatment.
- – Attend patient care conferences as scheduled.
Requirements
- – Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- – Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- – Current Washington State Driver’s license.
- – Proof of insurability
- – Current CPR/First Aide certification by the date of hire.
- – Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- – Experience in acute care, outpatient settings, home health, or pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- – Familiarity with developing care plans and discharge planning processes is advantageous.
- – Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
